The Brechel Bath

Sweating - Farmer´s Style

The origin of the Brechel Bath refers to textile production. During the process of textile production the stems of flax and hemp had to be dried by a dry heat. After that the stems could be broken (beaten) by a beater (Breche(l) / German) and afterwards damped in a humid heat.

During the process of beating the farmers themselves started to sweat. Soon they got aware of the advantages of a “sweat bath”, because of that already in 1790 many farmers in Rauris region near Salzburg had such a bath tub in front of their houses.

The well-tried Brechel bath oven forms the centre point of this extraordinary bath adventure still today. The herbal vapour infusions set free the natural aroma of camomile, elder, juniper, sage and others. This creates a pleasant hazy and cosy atmosphere.

The mixture of intensive hot air phases and cooling stimulates blood circulation in a gentle way. Body and skin temperature will rise considerably, frequency of the heartbeat and blood circulation will “get going”. The Brechel Bath is ideal preparing the skin for further wellness treatments.

The carefully warmed up hay sets free the natural compound cumarin which is a healing substance of the hay, and can be absorbed through the skin and respiratory tracts.

The visitor can breathe deeply and relieved while medical herbs unfold their soothing effects. The combination of the hay produces a mild, circulatory-saving rise in warmth, which relaxes muscles immediately, activates the skin surface and increases perspiration.

The Pantai™ – Luar Massage

“Setting out for new shores” - profit from the knowledge of the Far East

Pantai-Luar is a traditional whole-body massage with spice-fruit stamps from East Asia. Special about this massage is the use of stamps heated up to about +140° C in oil.
Quick, short touches of the stamp lead to cell production, which stimulates metabolism and purge of waste products in the skin. When, thereafter, the skin gets massaged with the stamp a pleasant warmth is floating through the entire body. Side effect is a soft peeling. Fruit acid makes it easier for effective substances to get inside the deeper layers of the skin, and connecting tissue can be strengthened.
Use of stamps enables a treatment on the spot. In Germany Paul Haslauer has developed a variation of this type of massage called Pantai™ -Luar, which means “heading for new beaches”. The whole physiotherapist team has been trained on this special treatment attending advanced courses in theory and practice. The Haslauer Company guarantees the highest standard of all applied material like oil and stamps.
The stamp treatment stimulates a “repair system” of the skin. Muscle bracing can loosen. The result: more energy that inspires!
